Are You Ready For Some Football?
Posted on August 29, 2008, by Kim, under Sports, TV Shows.
So, I joined this all girls Fantasy Football league. We had our draft last night, and while I will admit, I was very stressed out during the first round until I got the hang of it, it was still a lot of fun.
Here’s my Ms.Conception about this league. I didn’t realize that I was going to have to track those teams every week! What was I thinking? I love football and all, but man! This is going to be extreme!
I feel like I have a really good team I actually got Joseph Addai and Dallas Clark, along with some other great players. So this could be an interesting football season!
I would love some suggestions since I am really, really clueless!

Cancer Happens to Older Women
Posted on August 27, 2008, by Kim, under Family, Health & Beauty.
Okay, so this is a more serious post, sorry! I was reminded just the other day by my mom that she was 36 when she was first diagnosed with breast cancer. By God’s healing hand, she is still with me today and I take that for granted far to much! I couldn’t imagine what life would be without her. Sure, there are times when we don’t see eye to eye, and I get frustrated, but I am quickly reminded what the other option is. I do know that when either one of us leaves this earth, I want it to be on good terms–Love you mom!
Now, I just turned 34 and while I know it isn’t true, I feel like I’ve got a while before I need to start getting those most important exams. I have lost many people in my family because of cancer and I am watching God work in so many lives through a friend who is battling cancer daily. I absolutely hate cancer. I can’t believe it even exists, so with that in mind, think about how I might feel about those dreaded tests.
I know it needs to be done, so my charge to you as a woman who hasn’t gone through the testing–let’s bond together and take care of ourselves! Our families deserve it!
If you are like me and haven’t had your testing, share with me why it’s hard for you to jump right in to have it done. If you have had testing, let the readers know what it’s like with no candy coating! We need to have it done, it’s just a matter of when.

Getting Your Ears Pierced Hurts
Posted on August 23, 2008, by Kim, under Health & Beauty.
Okay, I know. Being 34 and getting your ears pierced at Libby Lu’s does seem quite crazy, but I did it today. I went with my friend Julie. I was so nervous. I had my ears pierced when I was 11 years old, but since they kept getting infected, I decided to let them grow back togther.
I hadn’t thought much about having my ears pierced, until I got the coolest earings from Julie and I couldn’t wear them. I ended up giving them to our pastor’s wife, which made her day, but now I really miss having them.
It’s only the first day, but I haven’t really experienced any pain, aside from the stinging that comes along with that little white gun that shoots the earing right through your ears.
It was fun, and yes, I’d do it again!
