Mount Comfort Air Show?
Posted on August 20, 2008, by Kim, under Special Events.
Okay, so typically I wouldn’t want to spend a Saturday at an air show, but considering my son Ethan loves it, I am willing to give up a Saturday for him. Oh! Yeah, my husband loves it too. The air show is this weekend, and while I must admit, it’s not my favorite thing to do, it is pretty entertaining especially if you like speed and loud sonic booms.
For the sake of being made fun of, I won’t attempt to name any of the flight teams that come into the town to “show off”, but I will say, it makes me feel a little more patriotic!
If you’re in the area or if not, you should check into going. Who knows you may actually enjoy it.

Americans Put on a Show
Posted on August 9, 2008, by Kim, under Sports, TV Shows.
I would typically agree with this, but after watching some of the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Summer Olympics, I believe China way out did the Americans! I was so amazed at the drum line they had! I know a lot of preparation went into that program and I am sure the stress and tension was out of control!
I am a big fan of the olympics, so I am hoping that we can take a lot of gold medals this year!

Back To School Always Gets Easier
Posted on August 5, 2008, by Kim, under Education, Family.
Yet another Ms.Conception! This summer has been the best summer our family has ever had. We did a lot of fun things together. Jason and I realized that we won’t have our children forever, so we are taking advantage of the time that we do have. We have been camping twice this year and surprised the kids with a couple of late night movies, plus the kids got to go away for the first time to Ohio to spend the week with their Aunt Kendra.
Ethan and Abby have done a lot of growing up this summer. They are kids, and they love to have fun, but one thing that I have been working on them with is getting along and learning how to give in to other’s wishes. It’s hard for them to learn outward focus at this age, but little lessons here and there have really paid off! Ethan and Abby have gotten along this summer so well and both of them have been willing to compromise and meet halfway on things.
They started school today. Abby proudly walked into her first grade class without looking back. As I watched my little girl climbing up one more rung of her life’s ladder, I couldn’t help thinking about what I went through after she was born, and I just stood there thanking God for the blessings He’s given me! Ethan had to be at school a whole hour earlier than Abby, so he went with Jason. Ethan got the teacher he wanted! Mrs. Ponchot! She is very pretty, so I am hoping that he’ll actually learn this year!
Well, the hardest thing this summer by far has been sending the kids back to school. After the summer we’ve had, I just wasn’t done with them. It’s sad, but I know this is what I am suppose to do. Teach and train and set them free.
