Americans Put on a Show

Posted on August 9, 2008, by , under News | Events | Politics, TV | Movies | Books.

I would typically agree with this, but after watching some of the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Summer Olympics, I believe China way out did the Americans!  I was so amazed at the drum line they had!  I know a lot of preparation went into that program and I am sure the stress and tension was out of control!

I am a big fan of the olympics, so I am hoping that we can take a lot of gold medals this year!

Super Hero Movies Are Dumb

Posted on July 3, 2008, by , under TV | Movies | Books.

Yet another Ms.Conception!  My husband and I went out Wednesday night to celebrate my birthday.  We went to dinner and then to see the new movie Hancock, starring Will Smith (hell-o) and Charlize Theron.  I knew it was a super hero movie, but the previews and the fact that Will Smith was in the movie, sold me right away.

I loved this movie & I highly suggest you go see it.

Japanese Game Shows are Great

Posted on July 2, 2008, by , under TV | Movies | Books.

First, let me preface this post with I am not bashing the Japanese culture at all.  As a matter of fact, my good friend Lark grew up in Japan as a missionary kid and I have total respect for her.

With this being said, I don’t know how she survived the tv shows over there.  We stayed up to watch I Survived a Japanese Game Show tonight, and I am extremely annoyed by the show.  The games they play and the crowd noise, would send me over the edge.

I would say that a Ms. Conception would be that Japanese game shows are great, at least to the American culture.  I know that we’ve gotten some great ideas from them but the appreciation isn’t there, because there is such a cultural divide, but wow!  I don’t think I could watch this on tv all day.
